Program Information
This program is dedicated to building advanced technique without the pressure of competition. It is designed for skaters who love the challenge of the sport and want to refine their skills in a comfortable, community-focused atmosphere.
Skaters in this program work at their own pace in smaller groups tailored to their ability level. This program offers focused instruction in:
- Core Fundamentals: Enhancing balance, flexibility, and posture to create a strong, stable foundation on the ice.
- Precision Skating: Deepening edge work and control to improve glide, flow, and transition speed.
- Technical Skill Building: Structured development of jumps and spins, focusing on proper mechanics and safe execution.
- Artistic Expression: Encouraging skaters to find their own style and musicality in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
Skater Assessments
Once a skater moves into our Figure Skating program, they graduate from our foundational badge levels and begin a brand-new set of Figure Skating Badge Levels.
These badges are specifically designed for the figure skating stream and focus on specialized technical elements. Because these skills (like rotational jumps and complex footwork) require a high degree of precision, it is normal for skaters to spend more time mastering a single badge than they did in our introductory levels.
Skaters are grouped based on level and skating ability into smaller groups to ensure that every athlete receives the personalized attention and technical feedback they need to thrive at their own pace.
For more information about the skills that are covered in this class, and how skaters are evaluated, visit our Assessments & Evaluations page.
